11-27-09 Hillsdale, NJ - Working Fire
November 27, 2009 - At approx 0145 hrs, the Hillsdale Fire Department was dispatched for a reported fire showing from a home on Homestead Avenue. First arriving Hillsdale Police Officers confirmed a working fire with heavy fire on the "bravo" side of the 1-1/2 story wood frame. Hillsdale Police Officer Sayers and his partner successfully rescued the homeowner and removed her prior to the arrival of firefighters.
Hillsdale firefighters conducted primary and secondary searches which proved negative and a aggressive interior attack was made. All visible fire was knocked down and the fire was place under control at approx 0230 hrs with no reported injuries to firefighters. The homeowner was transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation and is expected to fully recover.
