May 01, 2008 - Stroudsburg, PA - Firefighters have largely controlled a blaze that broke out at the corner of Fulmer and North Third Street in Stroudsburg on Thursday afternoon. The fire started shortly before 5 p.m. at a multi-family dwelling at 65 N. Third St. in a second-floor bedroom occupied by children. The mother was at the residence with her three children, ages 9, 8 and 5, watching her cousin's 17-month-old-baby at the time of the fire and called 911 while getting the children out of the house.
Stroud Area Regional Police officer Kenneth Nevil arrived at the scene first and kicked in the door in to make sure no one else was left in the building. Everyone was out. No injuries were reported.
