September 09, 2009 - Twelve members from the Western Galilee Fire and Rescue, Police and EMS arrived in New Jersey this morning after traveling for well over 18 hours to get here. Only after a few hours rest they where taken to their first firehouse for lunch with the members in the Headquarters of the City of Hackensack Fire Department. They were greeted by Chief of Department Freeman and Deputy Chief Stephen Kallman and were shown the City's equipment and watched a demonstration of the Bailout System. After lunch Jack Terhune, President of the Bergen County 200 Club and Miriam Allenson from the UJA Federation of Northern New Jersey presented our guests with windbreakers as a small token for their visit and firefighters from Galilee and HFD exchanged fire department t-shirts, patches and lapel pins.
Arriving at the Life Safety Complex, our Brothers from the East were issued firefighting gear which was provided by the City of Hackensack Fire Department and were shown the grounds of the facility.
