River Edge, NJ Fire Department Ex-Chief Charles "Chub" Naprstek
October 14, 2013 - In Loving Memory of River Edge, NJ Fire Ex-Chief Charles “Chub” Naprstek.
Charles was a member of the River Edge Fire Department for 58 years as well as a retired Police Officer for the River Edge Police Department. Charlie was also an Ex-Chief and served as the Chief Engineer for Company #2.
On a personal note....
Chub, I've known you since 1986 when I joined New Milford Fire Department. You were one of my three mentors in the fire service and I can't begin to tell anyone on how much I've learned from you. Because of you I was able to pass on my knowledge and experience to rookie firefighters and believe it or not when I'm at the fire academy or on the fire ground, I'm still as alert as if I were working the fires and always on the ready to still help my Brother and Sister firefighters. Even putting the camera down to help stretch a line, hit the hydrant and even throw ladders. You will FOREVER hold a special place in my heart that I will live on. Thank you Chub, thank you for everything my friend. I will miss you!!
