Waldwick, NJ United States Marine Staff Sergeant Joseph D’Augustine
March 27, 2012 - The Borough of Waldwick, NJ is deeply saddened to announce the loss of one of their own. On Tuesday, March 27, 2012, United States Marine Staff Sergeant Joseph D’Augustine was killed in action in Afghanistan. The 29 year-old graduated from Waldwick High School in 2001. Funeral Arrangements for United States Marine Staff Sgt. Joseph D'Augustine are as follows:
On Tuesday April 3, 2012 Staff Sgt. Joseph D'Augustine will be brought home to Waldwick as we honor him with a Hero's Return through the streets of Waldwick. Beginning at 12 Noon, the Procession will exit off of Route 17 North, pass his home, travel up East Prospect Street through the center of town. The procession will make a left turn onto Franklin Turnpike and right turn onto Wyckoff Ave. Once it reaches Waldwick High School, the procession will make a u-turn and travel back down Wyckoff Ave, ending at St. Luke's Church on Franklin Turnpike in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ where the family will gather for a private viewing.
The family will receive family & friends from 2PM to 9 PM at the church. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00AM at St. Luke's with interment to follow at the St. Luke’s church cemetery.
We ask all who will line the procession route to please be in place by 11:30 AM and wear Red, White & Blue. Flags to wave as our hero passes, will be given out that day.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in memory of Joe be made to the "Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation" "Wounded EOD Warrior Foundation" or the "Semper Fi Fund".
