June 08, 2009 - New Milford, NJ - New Milford High School Seniors observed emergency service workers from the New Milford Fire Department, New Milford Police Departmet and New Milford Ambulance Corps demonstrate the ill effects on what happens when students drink and drive. Four Seniors from NMHS were made up to be victims in a single motor vehicle crash that struck a tree because the driver of the car was drunk. The teen driver and two backseat passengers survived the wreck but the front seat passenger did not. She was thrown through the windshield and died at the scene.
Even though this was a demonstration, DUI accidents affect everyone. In the next week or two most of you will be attending your Prom. Please keep in mind these photos and what you all witnessed today. You as young adults have the choice now to make the right decisions in life. If you find yourself in a situation where you shouldn't drive because you or someone you are with is under the influence... CALL SOMEONE!!! Call a cab, a friend or the most reliable source of trust... your FAMILY! It's better to have called them... instead of them praying that you did.
