Wildwood Crest, NJ - May 08, 2008
March 08, 2008 - Wildwood Crest Police Department received a report at 3:55 a.m. from the Coast Guard that a fishing vessel, Star 2, may be in trouble off the beach near Syracuse Avenue.
According to Wildwood Crest Police the Coast Guard was unable to respond from sea due to weather conditions. Wildwood Crest Rescue was dispatched. The rescue squad members responded from the shore rescuing three members of the ships crew bringing them safely to shore.
According to Coast Guard Petty Officer Ken Cholak the vessel had experienced engine trouble, and while the crew was attempting to make repairs the vessel ran aground.
Crews from Sea Tow and North Star Marina will be removing the vessel on Monday March 10, 2008
