River Edge, NJ - November 18, 2008 - Fireground Solutions
November 18, 2008 - Members from the River Edge Fire Department spent several hours going over fireground operations presented by Fireground Solutions. The instructors, F.D.N.Y. Lt. Christopher Reynolds and F.D.N.Y. Firefighter Frederick Ill went over a slideshow presentation in Primary Search, Roof Operations and Outside Vent - VES.
Lt. Reynolds is a 15 year veteran currently assigned to Ladder Company 18. Previously assigned to FDNY Engine Co. 82, Ladder 23 and Rescue 1. FF Ill is a 13 year veteran and currently assigned to Rescue Co. 1. Previously assigned to FDNY Ladder Co. 58. Both Brothers are currently Rockland County, NY Fire Instructors.
Other members of the team are F.D.N.Y. Firefighter James Hodges, a 14 year veteran currently assigned to Rescue Co. 1. Previously assigned to Ladder Co. 49 and Squad 41. F.D.N.Y. Firefighter Michael Pattwell is a 13 year veteran currently assigned to Ladder Co. 44 previously assigned to Engine Co. 92. Both members are also Rockland County, NY Fire Instructors.
Fireground Solutions Mission is "To educate and train firefighters to make safe and disciplined decisions during fireground operations". Other presentations include Engine Company Operations, Taxpayer Fires, Multiple Dwelling Fires, Garden Apartment Fires, Private Dwelling Fires, 1st Due Officer (Engine/Ladder) and F.A.S.T Ops. They also provide Hands On Training for Primary Search, OVM-VES, Roof Ops, F.A.S.T. and Engine Company Operations.
Fireground Solutions also has Training Packages available upon request. I attended this drill and even though I don't fight fires anymore this was a GREAT refresher course for us veterans. If you're interested, please contact our F.D.N.Y. Brohers at:
