Marissa Hone - River Edge, NJ Fire Department

Marissa Hone is a lifelong resident of River Edge. She currently attends Boston College studying Biology in the Pre-Medical Program. Her interest in firefighting was first sparked at 13, when her mother was the council liaison to the fire department. She joined the River Edge Fire Department in 2004, when the cadet program began in River Edge. With this program she took junior firefighter classes held at R.E.F.D. Co.2. At this time she also designed Company 2's first website. She remained a Cadet until turning 16, when she became a Junior Firefighter. She took Firefighter One at the B.C.F.A. in the Spring/Summer of 2007. In October 2007, Marissa became a probationary member of R.E.F.D. Co.2. She is currently an active member of R.E.F.D. Co. 2 when home from school.
